In 2016 we planted additional vineyard acreage in southeastern Arizona, which included 8 new acres of Cabernet Sauvignon to enhance our various varietal and Bordeaux-style wine expressions, particularly for Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The first harvest of these blocks was in 2019, and we've blended the wine here with our Cabernet Franc to produce a richly-flavored varietal with intense currant, red licorice and raspberry notes with a wonderful cedar finish. Bone-dry, tart and mouthwatering, our 2019 Cabernet Franc pairs wonderfully with rich lentil & bean soups, roast pork shoulder, lamb and dishes with mushrooms.
