In 2016, we planted our Block 3 vineyard on the higher, easternmost slope of our Kansas Settlement land holdings in southeastern Arizona. The project included substantial new acreage of Cabernet Sauvignon. We took a small first harvest from the vineyard in the Fall of 2019, aging the wine for 16 months in Hungarian oak puncheons and blending it with small rations of Tannat, Grenache and Petit Verdot wines from our 2018 and 2019 vintages. This beautiful, unique varietal wine is rich, full- bodied and loaded with black cherry, tobacco, spices and the essence of fall leaves. Always decant for best flavor, and enjoy paired with a well-marbled grilled ribeye steak, roast lamb or braised short ribs.
